Bread Upon Water — Vinyl Record

$40.00

The debut spoken word project of Cyrus Aaron is now available to add to your personal music and visual art collection! After years of live performance, the creative storyteller brings us the seven-track EP, “Bread Upon Water”, an intimately resonant and timeless arrangement of storytelling that Aaron has become known for.

“Bread Upon Water” is the genesis to Aaron’s musical catalog, and the intentionally crafted selections are a source of [bread] nourishment, that will stick to listeners.  “To create is an act of service, it’s spiritual, and art is meant to be given away so that it can find its community. It’s not our job to prematurely decide who gets it, and what they should do with it. Music is one of the purest forms of free will and connection. When we cast bread upon the water, it will find those who need it, and that is how the art remains.”

The EP includes spoken word that speaks to Black Women, Fatherhood, and a delicately profound piece honoring O’Shae Sibley — the 28-year-old who was fatally stabbed in 2023 after “being seen expressing Queer joy.”

The EP is produced by Max Michael Jacob, a frequent collaborator, and the sole vocal feature on the project is longtime collaborator and jazz recording artist Jeanette Berry.

All seven tracks will only be available on this beautiful 45 rpm vinyl that features the stunning photography of Rashida Zagon. The captivating gatefold jacket serves as poetry for the eyes and offers an added depth of visual storytelling an artist and their audience deserve.

Important to note: The first 100 copies are a limited edition colored vinyl.
